Background
Cannon Hatcher has been playing competitive cornhole for about six years, and he’ll tell you it didn’t come overnight. It took one to two years of steady practice before the results started showing up. By 2021, the Goldonna, Louisiana native was good enough to finish 2nd at the High School National Championships. He kept building his game from there while studying computer information systems at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, where he serves as president of the school’s cornhole club.
In July 2026, he arrived at the ACO World Championships in Owensboro, Kentucky, ranked 1,027th in the world, and left as King of Cornhole 21. Throwing Basement Bags, he won World Singles ahead of 2025 champion and fellow Basement Bags pro Sebastian Barger, giving the brand a 1–2 finish on the sport’s biggest stage. As Hatcher put it after the win: “I was so locked into the game that whenever it was over I felt like I had another game ready to play.”
