Are The GameChanger Cornhole Bags Changing The Game?

The GameChanger cornhole bags are the hottest bag on the market today. If you have a set in your arsenal, you’re lucky. Assuming you have thrown them, you can probably relate to why some love them, some hate them, some call them cheater bags and some will do anything to get them.

Why are they called the GameChanger?

Let’s begin by looking at the bags and why they are called the GameChanger cornhole bags? At first glance, the bag looks and feels like an ordinary bag, that is, until you flip it over. That is when you then notice there is a “patch” sewn right in the middle. The bag utilizes the same slick side fast slide material covering 90% of it. It is everywhere except for the patch.

That small patch is made of suede and is designed to act as the stick side of a bag. The advantage of this is since the stick side is only a small area it makes the bag easier to push on the stick side. Other double-sided bags with a suede material on the entire one side of the bag are harder to push in some conditions when on this side.

That is not the case for the GameChanger. No matter the condition, even wet, these bags maintain their pushing power. There is no other bag on the market, nor will there be, that has more than one material per side of the cornhole bag. For this reason, they call this bag the GameChanger!

When you first get the bags, they start out stiff, but break in quick. Once broken in, these cornhole bags seek the hole. Throw them anywhere near the hole and they will do the rest. Now that doesn’t mean the bags will make you an instant cornhole superstar. Instead, if you can throw the bags near the hole, they will definitely improve your game.

Are the GameChanger cornhole bags legal?

Yes, the GameChanger cornhole bags are a legal, ACL approved bag that are available for anyone to use, but are they really changing the game for the better or worse? When the GameChanger cornhole bags are broken in, the material becomes slightly flimsy and almost sloppy. So, when you throw a bag a little to the left or right of the hole and a corner of the bag catches the hole, most of the time it will drag the rest of the bag over and fall in.

It does not do this 100% of the time, but yes, it does it a good portion of the time. I do not know of any other cornhole bags on the market that perform quite the same way, which is why many people consider these bags “cheater bags.”

Are they changing the game in a good way?

GameChanger bags have been said to make mediocre players better. And while they have advantages, they do have disadvantages as well. The side opposite the patch is made of a slick material that makes the bag perform fast, very fast. When thrown on this side, depending on the conditions and the speed at which it is traveling, it has more of a tendency to slide off the back. So while this bag will seek the hole better than most on the market, you still need to get it on the board and toward the hole.

We posted a question on our Facebook page to see what people think of the Gamechanger cornhole bags and here are some responses from those that like and dislike them.

  • “Best bags, hands down.” –Matt P.
  • “It’s the best bag on the market … the most forgiving and consistent bag.” –Michael D.
  • “I love mine … ” -Stacy B.
  • “They are just another option in the bag arsenal. When you play outside most of the time like we do in Florida, conditions are constantly changing and so does the bag selection. On fast boards, they are the wrong choice. On sticky boards, they work great.” –Forrest H.
  • “The object of the game is to put the bag in the hole … It’s your pitch, choose your weapon.” –Hector G.
  • “The patch is too unpredictable for me.”-Jake C.
  • “Yes, [they are] cheater bags. When you watch a bag that’s on the top corner slowly make its way to the hole after every other bag hits the boards, it’s cheating.” –Efrain R.

The bottom line is this, the GameChanger cornhole bags are ACL approved and available for anyone to use. While some people think they are “cheater bags,” they are still an option for everyone.

And by helping beginners to get the bags in the hole a little more frequently, that will keep their spirits up and they will want to play more. The end result of that is exactly what we want, to grow the game and promote the sport. So, you know what they say, if you can’t beat them, join them!
